Extraordinary moment Bahamas runner Dives over the finish line of women's 400m to Win gold medal

   

Desperate for Gold!  Sprinter Shaunae Miller of the Bahamas (pictured) has taken gold in an upset win over USA's Allyson Felix in the women's 400m. Miller started strong and led most of the race, but was nearly overtaken by Felix.

She dove in the last second and managed to take gold. Felix finished second, followed by Jamaica's Shericka Jackson. Felix, who took gold in the 400m at last year's World Championship, was the favorite for this race.

Rio Dive Pool turns GREEN in middle of competition - Olympic chiefs Baffled

   

There were bizarre scenes at the Olympic synchronised diving final after the pool turned a murky shade of green.

 The five-metre deep diving pool - which was a normal blue colour during the men's event last night - appeared to be becoming more green as the competition went on.

Thankfully the divers did not seem that bothered by the water's green hue either - including British girls Tonia Couch and Lois Toulson.

The world's most in-demand midfield talent arrives from Juventus, rejoining the club that he left for next to nothing in 2012. Pogba, 23, will wear the No 6 shirt at Old Trafford having signed a bumper £290,000-per-week, five-year contract to work under Jose Mourinho.

Speaking to the club website, Pogba said: 'I am delighted to rejoin United. It has always been a club with a special place in my heart and I am really looking forward to working with Jose Mourinho.

Following Portugual win againt France in EURO 2016  cup, the Portuguese capital last night as tens of thousands of jubilant fans lit flares, honked their car horns and waved flags and scarves to celebrate their country's first ever victory in a major football tournament.

The underdog national team triumphed in the face of adversity as they beat hosts France 1-0 after extra-time despite losing their captain and talisman Cristiano Ronaldo (inset) to injury just 25 minutes into the Euro 2016 final.

Five-year-old Murtaza Ahmadi, from the Jaghori District, Afghanistan who shot to fame after photographs of him wearing a makeshift Leo Messi jersey has finally received real signed jersey from the Barcelona football star. Unicef Afghanistan shared the photos of Ahmadi showing off his brand new jersey and dribbling the ball on Facebook.

Little Murtaza's photo went viral after he was pictured wearing an Argentine National Team soccer jersey made from a plastic bag with ‘Messi’ and the number ’10’ penned on the back.

English Premier League unveils new Logo

The English Premier League unveiled its new, sponsor-free “visual identity” on Tuesday, which will take effect from the 2016-17 season onwards.

The new logo — a crowned lion’s head gazing to the right, accompanied by either the words ‘Premier League’ or ‘PL’ — will replace the current logo of a lion with its left paw on a football.

She won the Shanghai leg of the 2015 Diamond League Race yesterday, ThisDay reports.
Sources say Okagbere’s win was effortless, as she beating last year’s world leader, Tori Bowie.

“My race was pretty good,” Okagbare said after the race. “It is not easy to compete with the best of the world – but I won. I focused on my start. Normally I don’t have the best start, but now I was leading from the beginning,” she said.

Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard insists he was never likely to join Paris-Saint-Germain (PSG) after putting pen to paper on a new five-and-a-half-year deal at Stamford Bridge till 2020.

Chelsea: Diego Costa banned for three Matches by EFA

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been banned for three matches by the English Football Association.

Costa was charged by the FA on Thursday for his stamp on Emre Can in a league cup game against Liverpool on Wednesday.

He will now miss Saturday's crunch Premier League game against Manchester City and also games against Aston Villa and Everton.

"Diego Costa will serve a three-match suspension with immediate effect after a charge of violent conduct against him was found proven by an independent regulatory commission today (Friday, January 30, 2015)" a statement from the FA read.

"The Chelsea forward had denied the charge in relation to an on-field incident involving Liverpool's Emre Can which occurred in the 12th minute of the League Cup semi-final second leg at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, January 27, 2015.

"The incident was not seen by the match officials but caught on video.
