You all know the popular movie Titanic in the 1990s, the Oscar-winning composer James Horner (pictured left holding his two Oscars for Best Original Song for 'My Heart Will Go On' and Best Dramatic Score for Titanic) crashed in a single-engine plane registered him at Southern California Monday morning.
Ventura County fire spokesman Mike Lindbery said the crash (pictured right and inset) happened around 9.30am in the Los Padres National Forest.
Horner's assistant, Sylvia Patrycja, later confirmed that it was the beloved composer who died in the crash. 'We have lost an amazing person with a huge heart, and unbelievable talent,' Patrycja wrote on Facebook. 'He died doing what he loved. Thank you for all your support and love and see you down the road.
Horner was 61 at the time of his death and a husband and father of two.
