21-year-old Dylann Storm Roof Behind The Killing Of Nine People at an African-American church in South Carolina

Authorities have launched a massive manhunt for a gunman 21-year-old who opened fire at the 150-year-old Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal church in Charleston on Wednesday night, leaving six males and three females dead.

The 21-year-old  has been named as Dylann Storm Roof. white suspect is believed to have entered the church an hour earlier before joining the bible study group and then suddenly opening fire. A survivor said that people urged the gunman to stop but he insisted 'I have to do this'.

He kept one woman alive so that she could 'tell the world what happened, eye witnesses recounted, while a five-year-old girl also survived the attack after her grandmother told her to play dead. On Thursday, a cousin of one of the victims, Reverend and South Carolina State Senator Clementa Pinckney, told NBC News that she had spoken to one of the survivors who recounted the gunman's chilling words as they urged him to stop.
'He just said: "I have to do it. You rape our women and you're taking over our country. And you have to go",' Sylvia Johnson said.
