US President, Barack Obama has requested the sum of $6.18 billion from Congress for the purpose of combatting the Ebola Virus Disease in West Africa.
The funds would also be used to ensure that the United States is secure against any spread of the virus.
A spokesperson for the House Republican leader, John Boehner responded to the request saying that the appropriation it would be reviewed.
$4.5 billion of the money will reportedly be used for an immediate response
