Regardless of where this men are from does not make them Boko Haram suspects, It inhuman to kill unjustly.
Sixteen men who were arrested by Nigerian soldiers in the country's northeast were found dead few hours with bullet wounds, community leaders reported.
AFP learned that the troops paraded 17 people in total, including a cleric from Dogo Telbo area of Pokiskum in Yobe state immediately after they left mosque for morning prayers.
Hospital staff where their bodies were deposited claimed they had gun wounds except the Cleric was not killed.
Potiskum is a commercial hub of Yobe state and has been under attack since the insurgence. The community leader whose name is not disclosed reported that at least 15 people were killed and some 50 people injured on Monday during their Shai Muslim Festival in Potiskum.
The Dogo Tebo community leader added that the men were believed by the army killers to be Boko Haram members. He said " We demand a probe into this unjustifiable murder"
"The government should look into this cod-blooded murder and ensure justice is done because being a soldier is not a license to kill at will on mere suspicion"
AFP contacted the army in Damaturu and the capital Abuja by phone and text message but thie is not immediate response.
