The Fall of The Century : Billionaire Frank Lowy, 84, Tumbled Off the Stage While Presenting A-League Grand Final Soccer trophy

Westfield owner Frank Lowy, 84, fell off the stage for A-League Grand Final trophy

This is certainly the unforgettable public embarrassment for  billionaire Frank Lowy after he tumbled head-over-heels off the stage at Sunday's A-League soccer grand final.

Mr Lowy, 84, the founder of the global chain of Westfield shopping malls and the godfather of Australian soccer, lost his footing as he was about to hand the trophy to victors Melbourne Victory, who had just beaten Sydney FC 3-0 to clinch the crown in Melbourne.

Mr Lowy landed heavily on the turf, injuring his shoulder. He was treated by paramedics at the scene but was given the all-clear - although he will likely feel the embarrassment of falling in front of a packed stadium for some time to come.
