Photos: Mother tells how Son with rare 'fish-scale' illness is stigmatized

Hmm...- So many diseases we are yet to uncover as  boy pictured suffers from a rare condition called harlequin ichthyosis - 'fish-scale' illness

Heartbroken mother Jane Blackford has told of her pain as her five-year-old son Jayden suffered from the incurable illness causes sufferers to have persistently thick, dry, 'fish-scale' skin.

But while the disease is not contagious, parents shun him on several occasion as he tries to play with other children because parents were concerned he was 'contagious'.
