The Recording Academy has announced the nominations Friday evening, as TV viewers watched Sam Smith perform at A Very Grammy Christmas in Los Angeles.
British soul-pop artist Sam Smith, R&B star Beyoncé and singer-producer Pharrell Williams are all set to battle it out at this year's Grammys - with each nominated for six awards.
All three are up for the prestigious top prize of Album of the Year. The 2015 Grammy Award will hold in February 2015
