Egypt Bans Hollywood Biblical Movie: Exodus:God and Kings - BBC reports


 Egypt, a North African country has place ban a Hollywood movie with a story based on the biblical book of Exodus, due to what censors described as "Historical inaccuracies," according to BBC reports.  Egyptian Culture Minister Jabir Asfour slammed the film as "Zionist."
"It shows history from a Zionist viewpoint and forges historical events, therefore it is was banned in Egypt," according to state news agency EGYNews.

According to the country's head of censorship board, the inaccuracies in the movie also included portraying Jews as the builders of the Pyramid. Also, depicting that an earthquake and not a miracle by Moses parted the Red Sea, according BBC.

There have also been speculations that the movie has been banned in Morrocco. The film, Exodus: Gods and Kings which cost a reported $140m (£89m) to make, took $24.5m on its debut weekend, according to the BBC report.
