Taylor Swift Is Appointed As New York's Global Welcome Ambassador

Taylor Swift has been named New York City's Global Welcome Ambassador.

She joined the NYC & Company - the city's official marketing, tourism and partnership organisation - to encourage people to visit the Big Apple, which inspired her to write her latest hit Welcome to New York.

Confirming the appointment, the president and CEO of NYC & Company, said: "New York City is s truly welcoming city, and Welcome to New York"....

"We are pleased to work with Taylor Swift to welcome visitors from around the world, as she was welcomed this year, and couldn’t have asked for a better synergy between Taylor and NYC & Company to tell our story about what makes New York City, New York City."

The singer also released her 1989 album yesterday.
