Newspaper Legendary, Ben Bradlee, Former Editor Washington Post Pass On




The legendary former editor of  the Washington Post, Ben C Bradlee passed away  on Tuesday of natural causes in his home at age 93.

He transformed the Post into a venerated institution during his 26 years as its executive editor. He was the one who led the paper's coverage of the Watergate scandal and made the decision to publish the Pentagon Papers.

"Ben Bradlee was the best American newspaper editor of his time and had the greatest impact on the newspaper of any modern editor," said Donald E. Graham.

President Barack Obama, awarded him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2013, and he said:" For Benjamin Bradlee, journalism was more then a a Profession -it was a public good vital to our democracy...."
