An African national from Eritrea has been sentenced to seven years in prison for sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl in the District of Columbia.
Abraham Ayele-Sium, 26, was sentenced Wednesday, 22nd October, 2014 at the federal court in Washington after pleading guilty to second-degree child abuse and failing to register as a sex offender. He faces deportation upon release.
Ayele-Sium’s came to the U.S. in 2010 and got convicted in San Diego in 2012 of misdemeanor child molestation involving two 10-year-old girls according to his attorney.
Ayele-Sium moved to Prince George’s County in 2012 and then to the District, where he didn’t register as a sex offender.
Metropolitan police arrested Ayele-Sium last October 2013 for sexually molesting an 11-year-old girl after luring her away from church by offering to buy her ice cream.
