Meet Kai, king of the Friesians with the Great title as the 'world's most handsome horse'

Hello handsome: Could Kai the Friesian stallion (pictured at home in Tasmania) challenge his American counterpart Frederik for title of the world's most handsome horse?

King Kai is Australia's answer to the most handsome horse in the world but he's no one-trick pony, as well as proving to be a champion stallion he's earning a reputation as a superior dressage performer.

Kai is owned by Monique Thornley in Deloraine in Tasmania's central north. She admits to searching the world for almost a year in 2012 for 'the right specimen'.

'We looked at thousands of horses before we found him - I was after a very particular type, he had to be tall and beautiful with the long hair - he was the right horse for the right job,' she said.

'Unbelievably so popular, particularly the kids who just flock to him, and everyone wants a photo beside the big black horse,' Ms Thornley added.
'People just stop us and he loves it, he just stands there and really enjoys the attention.

'He is such a beautiful soul but we have to restrict the appearances because I am determined to achieve dressage success with him.'
And he's well on the way.
'He's my Marilyn Monroe, not perfect, not thin but everyone is drawn to him,' said owner Monique Thornley
