They say a firm handshake is a sign of good leadership. So from the evidence of this picture, Prince William was left in no doubt that Narendra Modi was prime minister of more than a billion people. Such was the firmness of Mr Modi's embrace earlier this week, the Duke of Cambridge was left with a clear palm print on his right hand (circled) for some seconds afterwards when he greeted the Royal couple at Hyderabad House in New Delhi.
