After a photograph emerged of it selling a pre-peeled avocado wrapped in 'wasteful' plastic and cardboard packaging.
The fruit was pictured on the shelf of a Sobeys in Thornhill, Ontario, and was covered in cling film after being de-stoned and peeled.
When faced with a complaint on Facebook, a spokesperson for Sobeys said the product was for people who 'might be new to avocados' and eliminates the 'guesswork' of peeling.
