George Clooney stands behind Hillary Clinton.
The actor penned a glowing endorsement for the democratic presidential hopeful, which was sent out to her followers via email on Monday, according to Variety. In his letter, Clooney announces his support for the former secretary of state, whom he calls the “one consistent voice” throughout this “clutter” of a campaign.
In the first line of the memo, Clooney also seemingly calls out Donald Trump and the various things he’s said throughout his circus of a campaign.
“If you listen to the loudest voices out there today, you’d think we’re a country that hates Mexicans, hates Muslims, and thinks that committing war crimes is the best way to make America great again,” the letter reads. “The truth is that the only thing that would prevent America from being great would be to empower these voices.”
Clooney goes on to say that Clinton is the “voice of tolerance and experience” that the campaign needs, “a candidate who knows firsthand the complexity of our international relationships.”
The “Hail, Caesar!” actor also writes that if Clinton ends up winning the Democratic nomination, she would be “the only grown-up in the room. And if ever there was a time for a grown-up, that time is now.”
The letter ends with Clooney inviting Clinton’s backers to enter a contest to join him, his wife Amal and Clinton for a private fundraising dinner in April at his home in Los Angeles. To enter, supporters just need to sign up for a raffle, and if they feel so inclined, they could donate to the campaign.
