Comedy legend Ronnie Corbett dies in hospital aged 85 with his wife and two daughters at
his side.
Corbett is best known for his appearances alongside Ronnie Barker in The Two Ronnies in the 1970s and 1980s and was loved for his monologues, delivered from an armchair .
He was with his wife, Anne Hart, and the couple's two daughters, actresses Emma and Sophie Corbett, when he died. He and his wife (right) celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last year. The comedian has divided his time in recent years between his homes in Croydon, south London and Gullane, East Lothian, which is not far from his birthplace of Edinburgh.
Tributes have poured in for the comedian, including praise from the Prime Minister David Cameron, actor Russell Crown (right inset) and TV star David Walliams (left inset).
He collapsed in 2012 and was hospitalized with gall bladder problems in 2014 but recovered from both concerns and was later said to be 'enjoying work and life'.
