A 40-year-old man was diagnosed with eye cancer, while also suffering from pinkeye.
There are many scientific studies which indicate that green light from a mobile device screen can result in the death of a human’s retinal cells, affecting our vision. When we use a mobile phone in dim lighting conditions for an extended period of time, the electron beam shines directly into our eyes. This will make a conjunctival condition become prolonged dry eyes, causing eye cancer and eventual blindness.
This unnamed 40-year-old man visited the doctor when he could not focus clearly, his albumen having turned red because of serious injuries. Turns out he always uses his mobile phone for 30 minutes in the dark before going to sleep. He did this over a prolonged period of time, which made his macular’s eye degrade, leading to impaired vision and signs of eye cancer.
The doctors can’t seem to do anything in this case because replacing the retina is an extremely difficult job for our current medicine.
Up to now, in Hong Kong, China, the age of patients seen with macular degeneration, dry eye and eye cancer has been getting younger. The main cause is excessive usage of the smart phone. The experts recommend that people should minimize their use of laptops, tablets or mobile devices at night, when lighting is low or even turned off. They recommend these access devices should always be used in suitable lighted condition.
