Star Trek legend Leonard Nimoy who died aged 83 after 47 years on the greatest sci-fi franchise of all

Leonard Nimoy, 83, passed away at his Bel Air, Los Angeles home on Friday morning, his wife Susan confirmed. Nimoy sent a final heartbreaking tweet on Monday urging fans to 'live long and prosper'. The star, who was first cast in Star Trek in 1966, suffered from COPD - chronic obstructive pulmonary disease - and was rushed to the UCLA Medical Center after a 911 call on February 19.
