Accidental gunshots seems to be the problem children now face particularly toddlers. A five-year-old boy in the US on Monday, January 19 accidentally shot his baby brother to death while they were playing with a 22-caliber Magnum revolver belonging to a relative they live with.
Sheriff Darren White told CNN that the baby was in a playpen when his brother found the gun lying around a bed.
The mother had called 911 to inform them that his five-year-old boy shot his baby brother with a paintball gun. But unfortunately it wasn’t a paintball gun, it was a real gun and the nine-month-old boy didn’t survive.
When emergency crews arrived, they found the infant had been shot in the head. The child was flown to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, where he was pronounced dead.
“At this point foul play is not suspected, and it appears at this time that the shooting was accidental,” the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Office revealed.
