Very impressive responses on why these achieved individuals and example setters have inspired of us but…..

First, let me clarify what a role model is before I continue from the but word.  A role model can mean different things to different persons but from a general perspective and agreed meaning of who a role model is and should be. A role model is  a person who serves as an example of the values, attitudes, success and behaviors that can be emulated especially by younger people according to dictionary meaning. Such individual or persons can hold a secular or spiritual position.  Such role model must not necessarily be a popular individual for instance parents of the respondents may not be public figures or celebrities but they influence their children's' values and desire for success.

From the conversation between the interviewer and respondents, striking resemblance in their responses is that there is an aspect they each love or thought worthy of emulation from their chosen role model. While the differences about their responses is that it’s based on sentiment for career choices, position occupancy, and relational reasons. Respondent 1 and 2 chose parents because they are always with them and their successes and endeavors inspires them, great! Respondent 3 and 4, make their choices because they love the public figures of the individuals and career position, excellent. Then what happens when those individuals fail  your expectations of them?

An observation overtime shows that humans are naturally impressionable and our choices are sole based on now, feelings, sentiments and all is just only on the good side, once the good turn sore we abandon and absconded. Lol! Needless to say that nobody wants to be identified with a miscreant or failure, although some individuals do. Let say, what if tomorrow, Obama or Okonjo-Iweala is found with a crime that is publicly announced and it tarnished their image, would they still be bold to declare them your role model? Or do you emulate the bad or not too impressive characters of your parents like say daddy smokes or his a drunkard.

Knowledgeably, the human role models are not perfect individuals as portrayed of them by the society. When the dictionary said attitude, it never distinguished between good and bad, meaning that role model ought to be perfect in all manners worthy of emulation. But it’s never the case, owing to the many flaws of man that contradict the real meaning of role model. Many troubles of the world today is because people sheepishly follow evil deeds of their role models. How do you explain someone whose role model is a killer, bomber, destroyer of good works, without mentioning you know some examples?  The best role model is Jesus Christ whose works, life and ministry is the perfect example for many to follow.

Why Jesus? Jesus is a role model because his attitude, behavior, successes is portrayed and exemplify according to the dictionary meaning of a role model today. He is love, kindhearted, compassionate and forgiving. He brings innovations and build.  While on earth he thought how to be hardworking, determined amidst hopelessness, disappointment and persecution. Haven’t you heard, He feed many, save the condemned, and do the humanly impossible. Back in the reality, He did not grab what belongs to others but stood for the course of many. I have chosen mine and you too can choose Christ as your role model.

Still, who is you Role Model and Why?
