NoozYes insight: Does Failing Means You are a Failure?

More than often when people don't pass the mark or don't get excellent grades such individuals are designated as a failure. This stereotype is common in todays world where failing to meet up with society expectation or standards at first attempt, you are out rightly tagged a failure. It may not directly thrown at you but the attitude of disdain you receive from friends even close relations would signal "Oh! I'm not welcome here because I have not succeeded".

You many have put in your best, work harder than many others but certain factors may cause your failure and does not necessarily means you are a failure. A typical example is the prejudice characterized our society where the many qualified are sidelined and less unqualified with top influence are chosen  or better still your financial deposition can affect your furthering to achieve a success in business. Many failed because they do not have the right environment or personnel to nurture or groom their ideas to reality. In all these instances, you are still not a failure, why? because you made an attempt and the more attempt you make, one will surely lead to positive result.

In reality, not everyone who's on top today got there with success after success, many failed at first or many attempts but they resolved to proof  their ability to succeed after several attempts . Also, more often than not, those who history best remembers were faced with numerous obstacles, fails,  that forced them to work harder and show more determination than others. Lets look at great men from inventors, athletes to scientist who failed at first or more attempts but later succeeded in life:

Bill Gates: Gates didn't seem like a shoe-in for success after dropping out of Harvard and starting a failed first business with Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen called Traf-O-Data. While this early idea didn't work, Gates' later work did, creating the global empire that is Microsoft and today he is a global philanthropist who ahs saved my lives in underdeveloped and developing nations.

Harland David Sanders: Perhaps better known as Colonel Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC)fame, Sanders had a hard time selling his chicken at first. In fact, his famous secret chicken recipe was rejected 1,009 times before a restaurant accepted it. Guess you all have a taste of his assorted grilled and fried chickeds

Charles Darwin: In his early years, Darwin gave up on having a medical career and was often chastised by his father for being lazy and too dreamy. Darwin himself wrote, "I was considered by all my masters and my father, a very ordinary boy, rather below the common standard of intellect." Perhaps they judged too soon, as Darwin today is well-known for his scientific studies.

Michael Jordan: Most people wouldn't believe that a man often lauded as the best basketball player of all time was actually cut from his high school basketball team. Luckily, Jordan didn't let this setback stop him from playing the game and he has stated, "I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot, and I missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."

Buhari Muhammed: he is a good political example who has failed 3rd time contesting for presidential position. In 2003, Buhari contested the presidential election as the candidate of the All Nigeria People's Party (ANPP). In the April 2007 he lost to Umaru Yar'Adua.  In 2011 general election, he falied to win and lost to Goodluck Jonathan of the People's Democratic Party. Now he is re-contesting for 2015 presidential election.

The list of men and women who were once regarded as a failure goes on and on. But in all these instances, lets look at Buhari political failures. He has failed to win three elections but for his case, pathetic I may say because his victory is determined by the people. Worse still  is that his failure is globally ridiculed but he never stopped trying every available options such as moving from party to party. In yours case your failure may just be known by few people or just you.

If great men of today can inspire us that keep trying until you succeed disregarding what people or society may think of you. Those who mock you today will rejoice at your success tomorrow. Humans are chameleon.
