Multiple rounds of gun shots were fired from a vehicle speeding past the US Vice president residence on Saturday evening around 8:25pm, according to the Secret Service.
A Secret Service spokesman told CBS News the Bidens were "out for the evening" when the shooting occurred around 8:25 p.m., but were at their Delaware residence for the weekend.
'This occurred on a public road outside the established security perimeter. The shots were heard by Secret Service personnel posted at the residence and a vehicle was observed by an agent leaving the scene at a high rate of speed,' Secret Service spokesman Robert Hoback said.
The New York Times reports Secret Service and local police were unable to catch the vehicle as it sped away. Although a man was arrested for "resisting arrest" when he passed by an officer securing the outer perimeter area. Investigators are combing the residents for evidence.
