5 year-old Boy gets $25 INVOICE for Failing to Show Up at Friend's Birthday Party and threatened with Lawsuit

Some Americans can be very dramatic. Lol! 5-year-old Alex Nash missed the 'slide and ride' ski slope birthday party of his friend because he went to see his grandparents instead. But weeks later his shocked father Derek found the bill (top right) in a brown envelope in his school bag. Mr Nash, from Torpoint, Cornwall (left with his son) said: 'I thought it was a joke.'
Mr Nash, 45, from nearby Torpoint, Cornwall, said he thought the 'no show fee' slip was a joke when it was found in Alex's school bag on Thursday.
Alex father refused to pay and now claims he has been threatened with lawsuit by the boy's mother Julie Lawrence (right with her family), who said: 'All the details were on the party invite'.

The ski centre's manager at Plymouth Ski Slope and Snowboard Centre in Devon Louisa Duggan said: 'We ask for a small deposit on booking and 48 hours before the party we ask hosts to confirm numbers and pay us the full amount. It's £15.95 a head for a slide and ride party.

'But there's no such thing as a no-show fee. We don't invoice private individuals, we just ask for payment 48 hours before.

'If the child doesn't show, to be honest we're pretty flexible. We might give the hosts some extra toboggan rides or some credit at the bar.
