Duchess of Alba one of the richest women in the world, with a personal fortune in excess of £3 billion, even after giving away inheritances worth millions to her fractious children, she owned fabulous palaces throughout Spain, as well as one of the world’s greatest art collections, with priceless works by Rembrandt, Titian, Rubens, Velazquez, Goya and Renoir over 50,000.
Yet the Duchess always insisted she was not rich: ‘I have a lot of art works, but I can’t eat them, can I?’ she said
Sadly, she died this week but left nothing for her new 64-year-old Husband who she recently got married to in 2011. Alfonso Diez prior to their marriage had signed a document renouncing himself from her wealth.
The guy must be really disappointed now if he had planned the woman would live longer for him to benefit.
