A fire at a carrot processing plant in eastern China has killed at least 18 people and injured 13 others on Sunday night.
The fire broke out at 7pm last night at the carrot packaging workshop of Longyuan Food Co., Ltd in Shouguang City, a town known for its green stuff.
The official Xinhua news agency says the fire swept through the factory in east China's Shandong Province Sunday evening and was brought under control in a few hours.
A doctor told Xinhua that one of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries.
The agency said police have questioned managers of the company in their investigation into the cause of the fire.
