He is said to be the favorite wardrobe designer for First Ladies and designers of socialists and film starts for four decade.
De la ta Renta passed away at his home in Kent, Connecticut, while no cause of death is revealed, he was earlier diagnosed with cancer in 2006.
De la Renta is survived by both his wife Annette and his adopted son Moises - a designer at his label.
His design legacy will forever remain alive .
