ENUGU: Man beats pregnant wife to death

Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested a man Mr. Ozoemena Nwanko, for allegedly beating his pregnant wife, Ndidi Nwankwo, to death. 

The incident occurred around 10 pm o October 17 at Nwankwo's residence in Akpawfu village Kanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State  according to the Police Public Relations Officer.

The alleged killer is known as a chronic wife-beater, beat up Ndidi who was four month pregnant until she lost consciousness.

News gathered said the woman sustained severe injury on her right leg and she died on the way to receive medical attention. 

The wife's corpse,Ndidi has been deposited at Agbani General Hospital, in Nkanu West Local Government Area, while Nwankwo is currently in custody as police operative conduct investigations in the incident.
