British Queen Elizabeth Twitter Debut Yesterday

The Queen sent out her first tweets from the official @BritishMonarchy Twitter account since 2009 when the account was open.

It read: “It is a pleasure to open the Information Age exhibition today at the @ScienceMuseum and I hope people will enjoy visiting. Elizabeth R.”

Within minutes, the Queen had thousands of re-tweets and the number grew up to 20,000 by the end of the working day.
