A Six-Year-Old Girl Got Her Tongue Cut Out In A Cup Lid

A six-year-old after her tongue swelled up from being stuck in the drinking hole of the cup lid for more than an hour was rescued by a firefighters.

The incident happened Qingdao, in northern China's Shandong Province.

                        

As the plastic lid was quite slippery, doctors failed to cut it open and so they had to call in other emergency services for help.

It took firefighters around 20 minutes to carefully cut through the plastic and free the girl's tongue.

What was left was the rather mangled lid below.
